I'm not entirely settled on what direction to take Val in yet, which is actually somewhat helpful because it reflects fairly well the state of mind that she herself is in at the moment. She's got the Bentley, and that's a good thing for her because it's an escape to back home, but that's now been eclipsed by the arrival of Tanith. Having a best friend show up is going to throw everything on its head, especially when that's soon followed by the discovery of feelings & passions that were never truly acknowledged before. It's all making her head spin a little bit, but that will settle soon enough, once she gets a grip on things, and then she'll go back to figuring out how to live here. 

On that note, she is trying to find herself a job, because she's so very close to slipping into stalking the streets at night like the idiot vigilante she is that a steady employment might be a great way to prevent it. She's an idiot, but a self-aware one. Then again, she's aware that several superheroes exist in the town, and maybe she wants to join their ranks. 

Things she definitely wants to do right now:
- Get a jetpack for Billy
- Hang out with Newt again
- Find Victra so that Tanith can kick her ass

I'm fairly excited to see what kind of path she'll take for the future. 


Rachel Berenson

I had a bit of trouble finding her voice, and in particular after this recent bout of bullshit taking over my life, it was difficult to get back into the swing of things. But I've got her again, and that's making me quite happy. She's going to be a bit more active, and she's going to tell more people about her powers just because she can do so here and not have to worry about being hunted down for it. In a weird, semi-logical way, it translates to a form of defiance for her. 

Rachel's also going to need to find a way to occasionally give in to her bloodlust. Something that isn't just the fight club, because there's only so many times I can tag into a post, really. That's something I'll figure out eventually, though, even though I fear she's going to be put on a watchlist or something when it turns into a regular feature. It's quite likely that she will get hurt in the process, and my only regret is that nobody will ever see it because when she changes shape, she heals all her injuries.

She's definitely getting to a better point. And I'm having an easier time writing for her.
